Active Stretching

Active Stretching

This is a modality of stretching that uses active movements (through specific muscle contractions) to stretch the muscles and fascia while strengthening tendons, joint capsules, and ligaments.

It consists of performing muscle contractions (agonist muscles) to stretch the antagonist muscles. As a result, stronger ligaments, tendons, and joint capsules are obtained. This generates a stronger and more stable joint, and at the same time, a more flexible musculature, recovering and/or avoiding possible joint and muscle injuries.
